CAN Learning kit is an integrated package that facilitates the user to study CAN protocol and practically create a simple can network and analyze the same. The CAN learning kit comes with a complete set of hardware and software utilities that help users build a CAN network by configuring the CAN nodes and analyze the traffic flowing over the CAN Network. The CAN hardware has onboard LEDs which can be used to observe the CAN message contents on digital outputs.

The kit is also provided with software utilities that include configurable CAN communication hex file, CAN Unimod I/O configuration GUI, Vcan application GUI, STM8 flash loader for loading the hex files through boot loader.

In addition to this, a sample code for CAN communication is also given which allows us to go into coding details for CAN. The user can add his/her further coding implementations for using more analog I/O and digital I/O present on board. This allows the user to go into the low-level coding implementations and concepts.

The complete solution is provided along with a CAN bus analyzer and a vCAN GUI for observing the CAN network.

This solution is suitable for both system level professionals such as electrical, automotive engineers who quickly need to understand how CAN protocol works and also for embedded system engineers who want to understand CAN protocol and concepts in depth through low level coding.
